\u2026Visits Enugu State to Distribute Professional Kits to Midwives<\/b><\/p>\n

The First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has emphasized that Nigeria\u2019s diversity and differences are blessings that should be harnessed positively to build a strong, safe, and prosperous nation.<\/span><\/p>\n

She made this statement during her visit to traditional rulers in Enugu State as part of her two-day working visit to the state.<\/span><\/p>\n

Senator Tinubu described traditional rulers as the \u201ceyes and ears\u201d of the government at the grassroots and appealed to them to align with her vision of promoting the health and well-being of their subjects by supporting her advocacies against cervical cancer, tuberculosis, HIV\/AIDS, and female genital mutilation.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAs leaders, we are responsible for taking care of all Nigerians, political affiliation notwithstanding.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cNigeria is a beautiful country, and no one should be hindered from visiting any part of it to experience its richness. We pray for improved security so that Nigeria can become a haven of safety for all.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The First Lady also highlighted upcoming programs under the <\/span>Renewed Hope Initiative<\/span>, including <\/span>Flow with Confidence<\/span>, aimed at ensuring that no adolescent girl misses school due to her menstrual period, and the <\/span>Environment Club\/Society<\/span>, which encourages students in secondary and tertiary institutions to actively engage in environmental restoration.<\/span><\/p>\n

Commending the synergy between the Federal Government and the state, the Chairman of the Enugu State Traditional Council, His Royal Highness Samuel Asadu, proudly noted that unsafe cultural practices that hinder the growth of women have been eradicated in the state. He lauded the hard work and commitment of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the dedication of Senator Oluremi Tinubu to national development.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cFor us here in Enugu, we the traditional rulers say, \u2018No vacancy in Aso Rock.\u2019\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

At the event where professional kits were presented to midwives from the South-East geopolitical zone, the First Lady expressed satisfaction at successfully concluding the distribution of scrubs and crocs across all six geopolitical zones.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSince the initial launch in January 2025, we have distributed 50,000 scrubs and 50,000 pairs of crocs to the North-Central, North-East, North-West, South-South, and South-West zones. Today, we are in Enugu to complete the exercise with the South-East zone.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

In his remarks, the Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Mbah, described the First Lady as the \u201cFlorence Nightingale of our time\u201d for her proactive response to pressing health issues. He also applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cHis goodwill and love are deeply appreciated. He is an epitome of courage and dedication.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

To the beneficiaries, Governor Mbah said:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cYour kits matter because <\/span>you<\/span> matter \u2014 and your work matters.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The event also featured the presentation of a <\/span>\u20a650 million grant<\/span> for onward distribution to <\/span>1,000 women petty traders<\/span> in Enugu State under the <\/span>Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI).<\/span><\/p>\n
