In a bold step towards deepening the impact of the National Poverty Reduction with Growth Strategy (NPRGS), the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Technical, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Education, Dr. Abiola Arogundade, today paid a courtesy and working visit to the Honourable Minister of Budget and National Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu , in Abuja.<\/p>\n
The meeting, held at the Ministry\u2019s headquarters, signaled a critical alignment between both offices as they work hand-in-hand to implement one of the most ambitious poverty reduction initiatives in recent times, Upscaling Technical and Vocational Entrepreneurship Training across six states in Nigeria.<\/p>\n
Dr. Arogundade emphasized the administration\u2019s commitment to equipping Nigerians, especially the youth, with practical, income-generating skills, stating:<\/p>\n
\u201cThis initiative is not just about skills; it\u2019s about restoring dignity, creating sustainable jobs, and building a skilled economy. We\u2019re grateful for the Budget and Planning Ministry\u2019s support in ensuring this vision is backed by resources and results.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Honourable Minister of Budget and Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, commended the initiative and reaffirmed the Ministry\u2019s commitment to supporting programmes that align with Nigeria\u2019s national development priorities and directly uplift the lives of citizens.<\/p>\n

The training programme, which will kick off in Abuja, Delta, Ondo, Anambra, Kebbi, and Bauchi States, is designed to empower beneficiaries with practical training in areas such as solar installation, cybersecurity, web design, graphic design, fashion, beauty, agro-packaging, electrical wiring, and photography.<\/p>\n
The partnership between the Office of the SSA and the Ministry of Budget and Planning is a testament to the federal government\u2019s unified commitment to transforming lives through skills, not handouts.<\/p>\n
