As Nigeria joins the global community in marking Children\u2019s Day 2025, the President of the Nasrul-Lahi-L-Fatih Society (NASFAT), Dr. Ayodeji AbdulWahid AbdulRauf, FCS, has delivered a heartfelt message urging collective action to nurture and protect the next generation.<\/p>\n
In his Children\u2019s Day message, Dr. AbdulRauf emphasized that every child, regardless of their background or birthplace, deserves the right to grow, learn, and thrive in a safe and healthy environment. \u201cFrom ensuring they are cared for and nourished to helping them become educated participants in our democracy, we must all do our part to support the next generation of leaders,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n
Highlighting NASFAT\u2019s efforts through its National Children Committee, Dr. AbdulRauf noted that the society has been actively involved in promoting child wellness, supporting healthy choices, encouraging physical activity, and reducing childhood obesity. The organization has also championed improvements in early childhood education and affordable childcare access, helping families attain financial stability while preparing young children for academic success.<\/p>\n
On environmental concerns, the NASFAT President stressed the importance of creating safer, cleaner environments for children. He called for sustained efforts to combat climate change and reduce pollution, which pose significant health risks to children, including increased asthma cases due to poor air quality. He also emphasized the need to protect children from violence, abuse, and substance misuse, while advocating for a reformed juvenile justice system that promotes rehabilitation over incarceration.<\/p>\n
Dr. AbdulRauf reaffirmed NASFAT\u2019s belief in the transformative power of education, calling it a ladder of opportunity that enables children to unlock their potential.
