Relative calm and normal business activities have returned to the Mushin area of Lagos after days of violent clashes between rival gangs left at least five people dead.<\/p>\n

The worst-affected areas in the conflict include Paul Street, Alasalatu, and parts of Idi-Araba, inward Mushin.<\/p>\n

Community leaders in the area have appealed to security agencies to deploy standby personnel to the troubled spots to prevent further violence. They also called for a thorough investigation to arrest and prosecute those responsible.<\/p>\n

The crisis began with the destruction of property, including private and commercial vehicles parked on various streets, which were vandalized during the chaos.<\/p>\n

Many businesses near Ojuwoye Market that were forced to shut down in the wake of the crisis\u2014due to fears of reprisal and armed robbery\u2014have now fully reopened.<\/p>\n

A source close to the Mushin Local Government Area, who confirmed that the crisis has been quelled, attributed the violence to a power struggle among rival groups.<\/p>\n
