If urgent action is not taken, an estimated 14 million more girls in the country remain at risk by 2030.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">While acknowledging the progress made through collaborative efforts involving the government, UNFPA\/UNICEF Joint Programme, civil society, and community leaders, Senator Tinubu emphasized that more work is needed to completely eradicate the practice.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\"> \u201cWe must remember that violence against women is not just a women\u2019s issue but an issue against humanity. It affects us all, eroding our shared values of respect and dignity,\u201d she said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">She urged stakeholders to intensify advocacy, build stronger partnerships, and empower survivors, noting that young people and women must take the lead in the fight against FGM. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">She reaffirmed the Tinubu administration\u2019s commitment to ending the practice, pledging her continued advocacy for necessary policies and support.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\"> \u201cOur collective voice is our greatest strength.
