The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) has intensified efforts to address Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) and workplace harassment by engaging key private sector organizations.<\/p>\n

On Thursday, January 30, 2025, the Executive Secretary, Mrs. Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi, spoke to the over 1300 staff of Wema Bank, emphasizing the importance of fostering a safe and inclusive work environment. The agency continued this initiative at UAC Foods Limited on Friday, January 31, 2025, where Mrs. Tumininu Oni, Head of Case Management, led a session attended by 191 participants both in-person and online.<\/p>\n

Mrs. Oni highlighted that sexual harassment is not always sexual in nature but can include unwelcome gestures or comments. She stressed the need for clear policies to prevent such behaviors and encouraged employees to speak out against any form of harassment.<\/p>\n

The sessions sparked insightful discussions, with employees asking questions and sharing concerns. To support victims and witnesses, DSVA distributed materials containing the toll-free helpline 08000-333-333 for reporting incidents and accessing assistance.<\/p>\n

This initiative aligns with the Lagos State Government\u2019s commitment to combating SGBV through awareness, prevention, and accountability, ensuring that all workplaces are safe and free from sexual harassment.
