{"id":12019,"date":"2025-01-15T12:37:19","date_gmt":"2025-01-15T12:37:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thenewsnow.org\/?p=12019"},"modified":"2025-01-15T12:37:19","modified_gmt":"2025-01-15T12:37:19","slug":"3-day-media-strike-peaceful-no-property-destroyed-nuj","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thenewsnow.org\/index.php\/2025\/01\/15\/3-day-media-strike-peaceful-no-property-destroyed-nuj\/","title":{"rendered":"3-DAY MEDIA STRIKE PEACEFUL, NO PROPERTY DESTROYED- NUJ"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Lagos State Council has conducted an &#8220;On-The- Spot-Assessment&#8221; of the three Broadcasting Stations as the warning strike enters Day three.<\/p>\n<p>Contrary to reports by the Lagos State Commissioner For Establishments and Training, Mr Afolabi Ayantayo, that the NLC, RATTAWU and NUJ destroyed studio doors and property of the State-owned Broadcasting Services, it was found that the property were intact.<\/p>\n<p>According to Ajayi, the position of the Commissioner is incorrect as we have moved round the three Media houses (LTV, Radio Lagos\/Eko Fm and Lagos Traffic Radio) today.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As responsible Unions, the NLC, NUJ and RATTAWU have equally documented all the evidence and we challenge those with contrary submission to bring forward their evidence&#8221; the NUJ Chairman said.<\/p>\n<p>The Facility tour was simultaneously conducted by other Union leaders, members and men of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) who have been on ground in the last 72 hours.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Deploying propaganda will not achieve any positive result.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Lagos State Government should look into the plight of the striking workers with a view to addressing their demands.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our people are not asking for too much to be migrated into Oracle database.
