Residents of Surulere Local Government have passed a vote of confidence in their political leaders, including the Chief of Staff to the President, Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila; member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Fuad Laguda; Lagos State House of Assembly representative, Hon. Desmond Elliot; and the Chairman of the Council, Mr. Bamidele Yusuf, for driving socio-economic development in the area.<\/p>\n

They urged the leaders to sustain their tradition of quality representation, which has positively impacted the community in areas such as infrastructure, healthcare, social welfare, empowerment, education, environmental development, and sports.<\/span><\/p>\n

Some residents of the council, popularly known as the Sports City, expressed these sentiments at the third edition of the Elder\u2019s Night, organized by the Bank Olemoh Youth as part of end-of-year festivities.<\/span><\/p>\n

The event, held within the Bank Olemoh Community in Surulere, witnessed a massive turnout of both young and elderly residents. Local delicacies, assorted drinks, and a lively atmosphere made the night memorable.<\/span><\/p>\n

The gathering also provided an opportunity for residents to reconnect, as the hustle and bustle of Lagos had often kept them apart.<\/span><\/p>\n

Speaking at the event, Alhaji Olayiwola Niniola, the Grand Patron of the club, said the initiative was aimed at fostering closer ties among residents of Surulere, both at home and in the diaspora.<\/span><\/p>\n

He expressed delight at the growth of the event over the years, noting the increased participation and the distribution of family attires, otherwise known as <\/span>Aso Ebi,<\/span> and food for all attendees.<\/span><\/p>\n

The highlight of the evening was a performance by Abideen Yusuf Olatunji, son of the late Sakara maestro Yusuf Olatunji.
