The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service has rescued a female adult from a chemical-induced fire at 291 Old Abeokuta Motor Road, opposite Vetland Secondary School, Agege, Lagos.<\/p>\n
The incident, reported at 18:38 hours on Friday, was swiftly attended to by the Agege Fire and Rescue crew of the agency, who brought the situation under control.<\/p>\n
The fire originated from an explosion involving several kegs of varying sizes containing an unknown chemical stored in an open, fenced, and gated land.<\/p>\n
Preliminary investigations into the ownership and type of chemical are ongoing. It was, however, discovered that heat radiation caused the explosion, as the chemicals were left unprotected under direct sunlight.<\/p>\n
The rescued woman is currently responding to treatment for first-degree burns sustained during the incident.<\/p>\n
