President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday rescheduled the Federal Executive Council meeting to a yet-to-be-announced date.<\/p>\n
\u201cInitially scheduled for today, the council meeting was postponed in honour of Lt. General Taoreed Lagbaja, the Chief of Army Staff, who passed away on Tuesday night,\u201d Tinubu\u2019s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, announced on Wednesday.<\/span><\/p>\n The statement was titled, \u2018Lagbaja: President Tinubu Postpones Federal Executive Council Meeting.\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n After announcing the postponement at the Council Chamber, Vice President Kashim Shettima led other council members in observing a minute\u2019s silence in honour of the late Army Chief.<\/span><\/p>\n Shettima also announced that ministers would proceed to Tinubu\u2019s official residence to pay him a condolence visit, saying, \u201cLet\u2019s do so as a family; this is the proper thing to do.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThe Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, will convene all of you at the residence,\u201d he added.<\/span><\/p>\n Earlier on Wednesday, President Tinubu expressed his heartfelt condolences to the Lagbaja family and the Nigerian Armed Forces.<\/span><\/p>\n He wished Lt.
