At least 200 residents of Amuwo Odofin and surrounding areas benefited from a free medical outreach organized by the Inner Wheel Club in conjunction with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and Rotary Club. <\/span><\/p>\n

The initiative aimed to improve community well-being by encouraging individuals to understand their health status.<\/span><\/p>\n

The outreach, titled \u201cRotary Family Health Day,\u201d took place at the Inner Wheel Vocational Training Centre on Raji Rasaki Street, Amuwo Odofin. It offered eye screenings with glasses and medications provided to patients, cervical cancer tests, diabetes and glucose screenings, malaria tests, blood sugar screenings, prostate exams, dental care, as well as free essential medications and mosquito nets for all beneficiaries.<\/span><\/p>\n

Two beneficiaries, Mrs. Olanrewaju Alinlaja and Mrs. Obi Amaka, were inspired to volunteer with the Club, noting that the well-organized event and the compassion shown to participants influenced their decision.<\/span><\/p>\n

District Chairman for Inner Wheel District 911, Mrs. Adenike Sodipo, expressed her satisfaction with the outreach\u2019s success. <\/span><\/p>\n

She explained that this initiative was a core project of her administration, aimed at alleviating the challenges people face amid the current economic conditions. <\/span><\/p>\n

Mrs. Sodipo highlighted the Club\u2019s belief that \u201chealth is wealth,\u201d emphasizing that a healthy society accelerates socio-economic development.<\/span><\/p>\n

She also announced that the Club, in collaboration with the Rotary Club, will provide free surgery and further treatment for 20 individuals with severe eye conditions.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to Mrs. Sodipo, another major project under her leadership will focus on regular counseling for young girls through symposiums to address unwarranted abuse in schools and at home. <\/span><\/p>\n

She voiced concern over the rising incidents of sexual abuse and violence against women, urging parents to return to traditional practices of closely monitoring their children rather than leaving this responsibility solely to society.<\/span><\/p>\n

Other beneficiaries encouraged the government to support the Inner Wheel Club with funding and logistics to help reach more Nigerians in need of medical care.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
