Lagos Speaker Seeks Support for First Lady Oluremi Tinubu’s Development Programmes

The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, has called for stronger support from state governments for the developmental initiatives of Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu.

Obasa made the call while speaking with State House correspondents after a meeting with the First Lady at the State House Abuja.

According to him, the various interventions being implemented by the First Lady in key sectors would significantly benefit vulnerable women and youths across the country if supported by subnational governments.

The Speaker commended the impact of the First Lady’s Renewed Hope Initiative, describing it as a transformative effort aimed at improving the lives of the less privileged.

He urged state governments to take advantage of the momentum generated by the initiative to implement sustainable development programmes that would further improve the welfare of citizens.

Obasa also explained that his visit to the First Lady was partly to extend his goodwill during the overlapping religious observances of Ramadan and Lent.
