Faces at the 23rd Matriculation Ceremony of the Nigerian Institute of Journalism (NIJ), Ogba, held at the Sir Kensington Adebutu Media Resource Centre, Ijaye Road, Ogba, Lagos.

A total of 293 students across the National Diploma, Higher National Diploma, and Postgraduate Diploma categories were admitted into various departments at the ceremony, which was led by the Provost, Mr. Gbenga Adefaye, and supported by the Registrar, Mrs. Patricia Kalesanwo.

Mr. Adefaye told the gathering, including family members and friends of the matriculating students, that one of the proudest achievements of NIJ is its academic stability, adding that the institution has maintained an uninterrupted academic calendar—no strikes, no shutdowns, and no avoidable delays.

Putting the record straight, the Provost disclosed that HND students who successfully complete their academic programmes qualify for NYSC mobilization, placing NIJ graduates on equal professional footing with their peers nationwide.

He added that NIJ students have consistently excelled in national competitions—an affirmation of the quality of training offered—while urging students to fully comply with all the rules in order to enjoy a smooth academic pursuit.

The ceremony was witnessed by representatives of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
