YABA LCDA EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN, HON. DR. BAYO ADEFUYE, FLAGS OFF POLIO VACCINATION DRIVE, URGES COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION AND SAFETY COMPLIANCE
Yaba Local Council Development Area (LCDA) launched its Polio Outbreak Response (OBR) vaccination exercise at Yaba Community . The flag-off ceremony was led by HON. DR. BAYO ADEFUYE, the Executive Chairman of Yaba LCDA.
During the engagement, HON. DR. ADEFUYE emphasized that protecting children’s health is a shared responsibility. He called on all stakeholders, including parents, guardians, and community leaders, to fully cooperate with the government and health officials to ensure successful immunization coverage.
“It is our collective duty to create a safe and healthy environment for our children. Every eligible child must receive this vaccination to safeguard their wellbeing,” HON. DR. ADEFUYE stated.
Supporting this critical initiative, the Medical Officer of Health, Dr. SEKINAT OREDEIN highlighted the safety and effectiveness of the polio vaccine. She reiterated that the vaccine is free and vital in protecting children against poliomyelitis. DR. OREDEIN noted that the campaign aligns with Yaba LCDA’s commitment to community health and safety.
Following the remarks, the exercise commenced, with HON. DR. ADEFUYE personally administering vaccines to children within the target age group.
The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the Local Immunisation Officer, who expressed sincere appreciation to all participants for their commitment and cooperation in making the flag-off a success.
