OLORUNDA: APC 12 DISCIPLES PAY COURTESY AND CONGRATULATORY VISIT TO HON. AJOSE PETER KUMAYON

In a show of solidarity and loyalty, members of the APC 12 Disciples on Thursday, 21st August, 2025, paid a courtesy and congratulatory visit to the Executive Chairman of Olorunda LCDA, Hon. Ajose Peter Kumayon, and his Vice Chairman, Hon. Adele Bolaji Solomon, at the Chairman’s Chamber.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Pastor Sunday Amori presented a formal letter of congratulations to both leaders, commending their emergence and the achievements recorded since assumption of office.

Pastor Amori, in his goodwill message, appealed to the Chairman to always carry the APC 12 Disciples along in council events and activities. He assured the Executive Chairman that the group remains committed to providing steadfast support and allegiance to his administration.

The Coordinator of the APC 12 Disciples, Comrade Dapo Aina, congratulated and fervently prayed for the Executive Chairman and the Vice Chairman, wishing them a successful, productive, and peaceful tenure.

In his remarks, Comrade Aina recalled the warm reception the group received when they first approached the Chairman, noting that his openness and enthusiasm greatly encouraged them. He also appreciated the Vice Chairman for his consistent fatherly advice and guidance.

Speaking further, Comrade Aina emphasized that most members of the APC 12 Disciples are graduates who are not comfortable chasing political office holders for financial support during personal or family occasions such as naming ceremonies. Rather, they prefer to contribute meaningfully to governance and community development.

He informed the gathering that the APC 12 Disciples have been in existence for over six years and actively participated in the just concluded Local Government elections by contributing resources within their capacity. On the ongoing INEC PVC/Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise, he disclosed that the group had successfully registered over 200 residents through online channels.

Responding, the Vice Chairman, Hon. Adele Bolaji Solomon, speaking on behalf of the Executive Chairman, expressed profound appreciation to the APC 12 Disciples for their visit. He stressed that politics should move beyond old practices, noting that a new page has been opened for collaborative efforts to take Olorunda LCDA to greater heights.

In his own address, the Executive Chairman, Hon. Ajose Peter Kumayon, humorously remarked on the gender composition of the group, noting that unlike the Biblical twelve disciples of Jesus Christ, who were all men, the APC 12 Disciples included women. He urged members to see themselves as men and women of integrity, commitment, and political responsibility.

Hon. Ajose emphasized that as a mature politician, he strongly believes in the spirit of sportsmanship and recognizes that life is in phases. According to him, the present phase is unique and critical, as it centers on the holistic development of Olorunda LCDA. He stressed that the APC is a large political house capable of accommodating everyone irrespective of political lineage, orientation, conviction, or philosophy.

Looking at the group, he described them as enlightened minds and distinct figures, assuring them of his full support. He further stressed that governance cannot be achieved in isolation, but through the collective cooperation of all strata of society, which is vital for the progress and transformation of “God’s Own Local Government.”

He assured them of inclusiveness in developmental programs. On the ongoing INEC PVC/Continuous Voter Registration exercise, the Chairman reiterated the need for collective efforts to ensure maximum results. He commended the group for mobilizing over 200 residents for registration and requested that they forward the generated data for harmonization.

Hon. Ajose also disclosed that on Monday, 25th August, 2025, a Stakeholders’ Engagement on PVC/CVR registration will hold at the Council Secretariat. The engagement is expected to bring together political stakeholders, market leaders, youths, artisans, CDCs/CDAs, and other interest groups for enlightenment on the modalities and importance of the exercise.

At the climax of the event, Mrs. Grace Oladele and Pastor Sunday Amori presented separate portrait gifts to both the Executive Chairman and the Vice Chairman.
