FG Approves the Construction of Six Ultra Modern Bus Terminals Across Nigeria

In a bid to re position the Nigeria land transportation system, the Federal Government has approved the construction of six ultra modern bus terminals across the six geopolitical zones in Nigeria under the national public transport project.

The Minister of Transportation, Senator Said Alkali, disclosed this on Wednesday in Abuja while responding to questions field by pressmen at the end of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting.

Alkali noted that the six ultra modern bus terminal are among the legacy Projects of the Renewed Hope Administration led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, when constructed and fully operational will improve travel safety, reduce accidents and minimise illegal high way activities that have plagued the country.

Adding that the project would serve as instruments of economic, social, political development, and viability.

“This is the first time the federal government is investing in modern bus terminals. They were sited for economic viability and security.”

According to the Minister,
the ₦142.03 billion project would be sited in Abeokuta- South West, Gombe-North East, Kano-North West, Lokoja-North Central, Onitsha-South East, and Warri-South South Nigeria.

During the FEC meeting, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR commended the cabinet members for their unweavring commitment, resilience, and hard work in implementing the administration’s reforms.
