ADC Set to Launch People-Centered Manifesto, Vows to Unseat APC with Credible Alternative
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) says it has concluded plans to release the party’s manifesto, which it describes as a blueprint for a people-oriented government in Nigeria.
The party also dispelled insinuations in some quarters that it is made up of “strange bedfellows,” a notion stemming from perceived leadership crises.
These clarifications were made by the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, while speaking live on Sunday on The Front Burner, a current affairs programme on Super 92.7 FM, Lagos.
According to Abdullahi, the convergence of political heavyweights from across the country under the ADC platform is aimed at restoring good governance and bringing sanity to the political landscape for the overall benefit of Nigerians.
He stated that Nigerians will not be disappointed if they support the ADC to replace the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), which he accused of non-performance and misplacing priorities in the management of the nation’s commonwealth.
Abdullahi further noted that the growing popularity of the ADC is creating fear within the corridors of power, stressing that their coalition was not just to win elections, but to present a credible alternative by matching words with action.
The ADC spokesman added that the new leadership of the party, recognized by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and led by Senator David Mark, has vowed not to tolerate indiscipline among members. He described those questioning the leadership transition as “enemies within,” acting on behalf of vested interests.
He warned that members engaging in anti-party activities could be sanctioned if necessary, despite the inclusive nature of politics as a game of numbers.
Mallam Abdullahi concluded by thanking the majority of callers who expressed support for the ADC during the programme. He confirmed that all new entrants into the party have complied with internal regulations by registering at their respective ward levels.
