Hijrah 1447 AH: Muslim Community of Lagos State Calls for Unity, Reflection and Peace in New Year Message

The Muslim Community of Lagos State has extended warm greetings to Muslims across the state and beyond as they mark the beginning of the Islamic New Year, 1447 AH.

In a statement jointly signed by its President, Hon. Muhammed Bello Oyinlomo Danmole, and Public Relations Officer, Alhaji Jubril Folami, the community expressed gratitude to Allah for the gift of life and the privilege to witness another Hijrah year.

The statement emphasized the spiritual significance of Hijrah, describing it as a powerful reminder of the courage, sacrifice, and steadfast faith of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and his companions in their migration to preserve the tenets of Islam.

“The Hijrah is not just a historical event; it is a timeless lesson in faith, resilience, and commitment to truth and justice,” the statement read. “It calls us to reflect, renew our faith, and recommit ourselves to the values of Islam — compassion, unity, honesty, and peace.”

The Muslim Community urged the faithful to begin the new year with purified intentions, strengthened bonds of brotherhood, and a commitment to building peaceful, productive communities.

Prayers were also offered for divine guidance, protection, and mercy upon the state, its leaders, families, and the entire Ummah.

“May 1447 AH usher in peace, prosperity, progress, and spiritual upliftment for us all. Hijrah Mubārak!” the message concluded.
