As preparations intensify for the July 12 local government elections in Lagos State, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has inaugurated a 40-member campaign council to drive the party’s efforts across the state.
The council is chaired by the immediate past APC State Chairman and former Commissioner for Home Affairs, Hon. Babatunde Balogun.
The Secretary of the council is the current Chairman of Odi-Olowo Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area (LCDA).
To ensure strategic coordination, the campaign council has been structured into six directorates, each led by prominent party figures:
- Mobilization: Hon. Oyinlomo Danmole

Additionally, the party appointed zonal coordinators to oversee campaign activities across the three senatorial districts:

Speaking at the inauguration, the Lagos APC Chairman congratulated the appointees and charged them to commence work immediately, emphasizing the urgency of grassroots mobilization. He urged members to showcase the numerous achievements of local governments across the state and ensure widespread voter engagement.
“Our goal is total victory, and that can only be achieved by taking our message to every street, market, and community. We must remind the electorate of the development strides delivered by APC-led councils,” he said.
In his acceptance remarks, Hon. Babatunde Balogun pledged the council’s unwavering commitment to delivering results that will not only secure victory in the local elections but also build momentum for the 2027 general elections.
The campaign council membership reflects the party’s inclusive structure, cutting across various interest groups and stakeholders, including women, youth, artisans, non-indigenes, members of the National and State Assemblies, state cabinet members, and members of the Lagos APC executive.
