MYLAGOSAPP SEEKS TO SYNERGIZE SERVICE DELIVERY WITH LAGOS MINISTRY OF TOURISM

…As Special Adviser Calls For Early Registration From Participants Ahead of Detty December Activities

To enhance residents’ and tourists’ experience through effective service delivery, the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, has established a robust relationship with the creators of MyLagosApp, a digital one-stop solution to integrate tourism, hospitality, transportation, and entertainment activities across Lagos State.

The Special Adviser to Lagos State Governor on Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mr. Idris Aregbe, on Monday, expressed enthusiasm about the MyLagosApp when he hosted Ifeoma Chukwu, the convener of MyLagosApp, at his office in Alausa.

Mr. Aregbe, who applauded the App, especially as Lagos prepares for its iconic Detty December festivities, said: “We need better synergy to tell our stories the right way and position Lagos as a leading tourism and entertainment destination in Africa. A tech-driven approach like MyLagosApp aligns with our vision,” he said.

He further emphasised the importance of early stakeholder engagement and revealed plans to organise a two-day event to unveil the State’s roadmap for the festive season. “Detty December starts planning in October and November. We must integrate our efforts early for maximum impact,” Aregbe added.

The Special Adviser encouraged organisations, promoters, and event planners with activities scheduled for the Detty December period to formally register with the Ministry. He stressed that this process is critical for ensuring coordinated scheduling, compliance with safety standards, and access to state-level support and promotion.

“This is not just about visibility; it’s about responsibility,” he stated. “By registering with the Ministry, event organisers will be part of a unified calendar that helps avoid scheduling clashes, enhances security, and ensures that the Lagos brand is represented professionally across all festive engagements.”

On her part, Ifeoma Chukwu, Convener, MyLagosApp highlighted the App’s functionality as a centralised hub for real-time updates on events, traffic, lodging, nightlife, and government-endorsed activities. “Our goal is to partner with the Ministry to showcase Lagos in its full vibrancy and ensure residents and tourists enjoy a seamless and well-informed experience,” she said.

Chukwu also spoke about the upcoming official launch of MyLagosApp and her desire for the Ministry’s endorsement to enhance credibility and reach.
