Danmole Urges Aggressive Approach Against Terrorism, Backs Tinubu’s Leadership

The President of the Muslim Community of Lagos, Alhaji Mohammed Oyinlomo Danmole, has described the current security challenges plaguing parts of the country—particularly the North East and Middle Belt—as a form of guerilla warfare.

He stressed the need for Nigeria’s security forces to take the battle to the hideouts of terrorists, whom he described as foreigners and enemies of the state.

Danmole made this known during the inaugural Central Working Committee meeting of the new leadership of the Muslim Community of Lagos, held at the Conference Room of the Ansarudeen Society of Nigeria, Lagos Branch, Ajao Road, Surulere.

He emphasized the need for government to identify and tackle the root causes of insecurity, noting that the terrain of the affected areas poses additional challenges.

According to him, the current insecurity is not insurmountable. He said it requires the cooperation of residents in the troubled communities through the provision of credible intelligence, while security agencies must be willing to confront the criminals with superior firepower and courage.

Danmole also expressed confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s capacity and preparedness to deliver on the mandate entrusted to him by Nigerians.

Speaking on the state of the economy, he cited recent Fitch ratings as evidence that the economy is gradually bouncing back. He, however, advised the government to prioritize and sustain policies that will ensure lasting recovery.

He further stated that the Muslim Community of Lagos is ready to collaborate with the Lagos State Government in finding lasting solutions to some of the challenges facing residents.

Alhaji Danmole concluded by affirming the readiness of the Muslim Community of Lagos to fully implement its mission of improving the wellbeing of Muslims, noting that their approach to empowerment will go beyond mere distribution of palliatives.
