First Lady Oluremi Tinubu Attends OAFLAD High-Level Dinner, Joins Call to Action on Planet-Friendly School Meals
Members of the Organization of African First Ladies for Development (OAFLAD) have commended Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for the reintroduction of the Alternative High School for Girls.
They described it as a strategic intervention with the potential to shift the balance in favor of women’s empowerment.
This recognition was given during a high-level dinner focused on empowering Africa’s future through education, hosted by OAFLAD in partnership with TheirWorld.
The African First Ladies in attendance highlighted that through education, girls and women would be better positioned for increased productivity and enhanced societal value.
The dinner, organized in collaboration with TheirWorld—an initiative led by former UK First Lady Sarah Brown—also acknowledged the significant interventions by Nigeria’s First Lady in education and child birth registration.
Further discussions on Senator Tinubu’s contributions in the areas of education, women empowerment, and health are scheduled as her engagements at the UNGA continue.
A special celebration of the First Lady’s 64th birthday by OAFLAD members was a delightful side event at the dinner.
