Muslim Leaders in Yorubaland Call for Unity and Prayer Following One-Day Meeting at Onimalu Palace, Ibadan

Following a one-day meeting at the Onimalu Palace in Alakia, Ibadan, Muslim leaders in the Southwest issued a communiqué calling for peace, unity, and prayer within Muslim communities across Yorubaland.

The communiqué, read by Barrister Abd Waheed O. Lawal, emphasized several key actions to promote harmony among Muslims in Ogbomosho and the wider region.

Firstly, it was resolved that Muslims throughout Yorubaland should be directed to observe tatawah (voluntary fasting) on Mondays and Thursdays throughout 2024. This observance is intended to foster prayerful reflection, with a special focus on peace and unity for Muslims in Ogbomosho.

The Chief Imam of Ogbomosho, Dr. Sheikh Taliat Olushina Yunus Ayilara, was advised to continue preaching peace during his sermons. He was also urged to avoid discussing the ongoing crises within Ogbomosho during his sermons on the mimbar (pulpit) in order to maintain a calm and peaceful environment.

The communiqué also called for an interface to be organized between the Muslim leadership and notable Muslim figures, including the three Muslim senators representing Oyo State, to discuss the peace and progress of the Muslim Ummah.

Additionally, the ongoing legal case in Iseyin was addressed, with the body insisting that the case should be pursued to its logical conclusion, ensuring that justice is served.

Lastly, the body directed all Muslims to continue exercising patience and to live in peace with others, promoting harmony within their communities.

These resolutions highlight the commitment of Muslim leaders in Yorubaland to fostering unity and maintaining peace during challenging times.

This is the communique read by Barrister Abd waheed O . Lawal. After One Day meeting at Onimalu Palace Alakia Ibadan.

(1) The muslims throughout the Yorubaland should be directed to observe tatawah on Monday and Thursday of 2024 and pray for peace and unity of the muslims in Ogbomosho land.
(2) Chief imam of Ogbomosho, Dr. SHEIKH TALIAT OLUSHINA YUNUS AYILARA be advised and is hereby advised to continues to preach peace and to discuss other topics on the mimbar without making reference to the ongoing crises within Ogbomosho.
(3)an interface should be organized between this body and muslim personalities and the three muslim senators in Oyo state for the peace and progress of the muslim Ummah.
(4) Iseyin case should be pursued to its logical conclusion and justice should be served.
(5)The body directs all our muslims to continue to exercise patience and live in peace with all
