SOMOLU LG CHAIRMAN ‘DULLAR’ JOINS ISLAMIC CLERIC IN CONDEMNING DRUG ABUSE
…urge parents to be watchful
The Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu has joined voice and strength with veteran Islamic cleric, Sheikh Muhydeen Ajani Bello as Jam’iyyat Fadlil Qur’an of Nigeria (JAFAQ) holds annual public lecture which centred on “The Menace of Drug Abuse in our society”.
The societal lecture held at Somolu Central Mosque on Durosimi Street of Somolu has loads of religious, community and political leaders in attendance.
Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu while attending to pressmen, urge parents to be careful and watchful with their wards as drug abuse is a social menace destroying youth globally.
He added that Sheikh Muhydeen Ajani Bello is an Islamic scholar known internationally for his blunt and sincere lecture of morals which repairs adults and prepare the youth for a better future.
However, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu urged communities and religious organisations to cooperate with government agencies like Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and the Nigeria Immigration Service in combating the menace of drug abuse in the Nigerian society, especially at the grassroots.
