Landlords, Business owners cries out to Governor Sanwoolu as several building were marked for possession in Surulere
Over thirty buildings including residential homes and office apartments around Masha and Kilo in Surulere area of Lagos state have been marked for possession following a judgement by the Ikeja High Court.
Those who came to mark the buildings today claimed that the exercise was carried out in respect of the Court ruling secured by the family of Oba Lateef Atanda Adams.
A popular Business Centre in Masha was also cordoned off as occupants were prevented from accessing their apartments.
The affected owners of the buildings marked have sent an appeal to the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-olu to wade into the matter.
The said that it was sad that some people just suddenly woke up and took over their properties without due process.
Reacting on the matter, the Counsel to Oba Adams said the case was instituted in1968 and ruling given in 1975 by Hon justice M.A Lawal of Ikeja High Court.
According to him, the occupants of the affected marked buildings were doing so illegally since the pronouncement of the court.
He said all legal documents on the possession are before the Deputy Sherrif at Ikeja High Court.
