NASFAT to Partner with HASDAT for Halal Advocacy and Abattoir Project

The pace setting Global Islamic Society, Nasrul-Lahi-L-Fatih Society (NASFAT) is preparing to partner with the Halal Standards Development Trust (HASDAT) to launch a significant Halal advocacy campaign, with plans to establish Halal-certified abattoirs in Nigeria. This strategic initiative was confirmed during a meeting of NASFAT’s National Executive Council, attended by prominent figures including the Chief Missioner, Imam Maroofdeen Onike, and National President, Alhaji Ayodeji AbdulWahid AbdulRauf.

The meeting featured key presentations by industry leaders. Alhaja Hafsat Moji Bello, CEO of HASDAT, discussed the importance of Halal certification and outlined the framework for the upcoming advocacy campaign. Alhaja Simbiat Agbalajobi, a veteran agriculturist and retired Permanent Secretary from the Lagos State Ministry of Agriculture, shared insights on the logistical and regulatory aspects of setting up the Halal abattoirs.

Alhaji Mikail Banji Sarumoh, a *former President of NASFAT* and a current Board of Trustees (BoT) member, emphasized the strategic benefits of the abattoir project. He noted that it would ensure the supply of high-quality Halal meat while adhering to Islamic principles. Alhaji Sulaiman Olokodana, Secretary of the BoT HASDAT, supported this vision and highlighted the role of the abattoirs in promoting Halal standards throughout the country.

Imam Maroofdeen Onike stressed that the partnership aligns with NASFAT’s mission to uphold Islamic values and improve community welfare. Alhaji Ayodeji AbdulWahid AbdulRauf expressed confidence that the initiative would elevate Halal practices in Nigeria, benefiting both the Muslim community and the broader market.

This collaboration between NASFAT and HASDAT aims to set new benchmarks for Halal compliance and ethical practices, paving the way for a more robust Halal industry in Nigeria.
