Tinubu congratulates Adeleke, says Osun victory reinforces democratic confidence
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Governor Ademola Adeleke on his victory in the Osun State governorship election, describing the outcome as a fitting assurance that democracy will continue to flourish in Nigeria.
President Tinubu, in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on Sunday, said he had earlier called Adeleke to congratulate him on his re-election.
The President said Adeleke’s victory confirmed the confidence reposed in him by the people of Osun State and wished him success as he prepares to lead the state for another four years.
He urged the governor to unite the people of Osun State and mobilise them towards growth, stability and social and economic progress, irrespective of their political choices during the election.
Tinubu also commended the other contestants for the courage and discipline they displayed throughout the electoral process, noting that their participation further strengthened Nigeria’s democratic culture.
According to him, the outcome of the election reflects the will of the people and reinforces confidence in the continued growth of democracy in the country.
The President also commended the Independent National Electoral Commission and security agencies for conducting what he described as a peaceful and transparent election that produced a clear winner.
