Breaking News! Fayose Alleges Makinde Behind Oyo School Kidnapping, Predicts Easy 2027 Victory for Tinubu

Former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has accused Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, of masterminding the kidnapping of school pupils and teachers in the state.

It would be recalled that more than 30 pupils and teachers were abducted by gunmen from schools in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State on May 15, 2026.

Speaking as a guest on Politics Today on Channels Television, Fayose insisted that he has evidence to support his allegation.

According to him, the recent kidnapping in Oyo State, which has attracted widespread condemnation, is similar to the abduction of the Chibok schoolgirls kidnapping during the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan.

On politics, the former Ekiti State governor said the 2027 presidential election would be an easy ride for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He argued that if the opposition had remained united, the election would have been a more competitive contest for Tinubu.

Fayose noted that opposition parties have weakened their chances of unseating Tinubu in 2027 by failing to agree on a consensus candidate and subsequently going their separate ways.

He promised to work towards delivering a landslide victory for Tinubu in Ekiti State in 2027, adding that the President would also win in other South-West states, although he expects a tougher contest in Lagos because of Peter Obi.

According to Fayose, Governor Makinde is merely playing to the gallery by allegedly nursing presidential ambitions and seeking a political exit strategy ahead of the end of his tenure.

On the economy, Fayose stated that former President Muhammadu Buhari left the economy in a difficult state for Tinubu. He also commended the President for ending the fuel subsidy regime, which he described as a racket.
