The Lagos State Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Systems, Ms. Abisola Olusanya, has announced the second phase of the Ounje Eko Farmers’ 25% Subsidy Programme during a press briefing held at the Ministry’s Conference Room in Alausa, Ikeja.

According to the Commissioner, the initiative represents a critical intervention by the Lagos State Government to enhance food sufficiency, accessibility, and affordability across the state.

Olusanya explained that the Ounje Eko Farmers’ Discount Programme aims to cushion the rising costs of production inputs, particularly within key agricultural value chains.

She noted that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu was inspired by the remarkable success recorded in the first phase of the programme earlier in the year, assuring that the government will build on those achievements as the second phase commences before the end of November and extends into early next year.

The Commissioner added that the initiative will ensure all interventions have a direct impact on food prices in selected markets, especially as residents prepare for the festive season.

Present at the briefing were the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Emmanuel Audu, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Agriculture, Dr. Oluwarotimi Fashola, major partners, and top officials of the ministry.
